Rangers Reel-In 6-2 Win Over Padres
|
At Petco Park, the San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Texas Rangers got a strong performance from pitcher Jared Holden, who stymied the San Diego offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Petco Park. Holden got the win, improving to 4-7. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
Texas used a big swing from Marco Valero to get the win. The right fielder walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rangers up, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Texas manager Corey Rangers.
The 4th-place Rangers now have a record of 51-63.
