The Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals played an exciting game.

Houston first baseman Victor Tirado played a vital role in his team's 4-2 conquest of Kansas City. He was 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Houston. Reliever Rob Johnson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Goll took the loss. Picking up the save was two-time All-Star Sam Miles.

With Houston leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Tirado batted against Kansas City pitcher Steve Goll. Tirado hit a fastball to left-center for a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season put the Astros on top, 4-2.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Houston manager Pat McCrory.

The win makes Houston 50-54.
