Tigers Absorb 3-0 Home Loss
|
The Houston Astros beat the Detroit Tigers, 3-0. Houston pitcher and St. Cloud, Minnesota, native Robby Zimmerman led the way. Zimmerman yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 6, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-1. Sam Miles got credit for the save for Houston. It was his 14th of the year.
Tomoko Bessett, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in bases on balls with 46, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bessett contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
"No time for posing," said Bessett. "The next game will be here before you know it."
Houston now has a record of 44-32 with the win.
