Mariners Lose to Nationals, 7-5
|
Joe Moultrie left his imprint on the 7-5 Washington win against the Seattle Mariners. Moultrie, who is a two-time All-Star, was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Washington is now 29-37, while Seattle is 30-36.
With Washington leading 5-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Moultrie hit a 2-run single off Seattle hurler Leo Caceres. It was the 25th hit of the season for Moultrie and put his team ahead, 7-3.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Moultrie, "one at-bat at a time."
