Walker Impresses in Boston Loss
|
The inspired effort of Boston first baseman Mike Walker was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Baltimore Orioles. Walker went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win belongs to Hugo Ramirez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Victor Calderon took the loss for Boston. Kevin Hanley collected save number 3.
Baltimore took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Kun-woo Kwon stroked a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Orioles.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Baltimore manager Dan Fiorito.
The Orioles, at 23-37, have now won 4 straight.
