Salazar Helps Cleveland Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher David Salazar, the Cleveland Indians defeated the Oakland Athletics, 10-3. Salazar went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Indians. Joe Hall went 8 innings for Cleveland to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record improves to 7-2. The win lifted the Cleveland record to 29-27.
Salazar made an early impact for Cleveland when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Indians on top, 9-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Salazar told the Cleveland News.
