Nationals Walk It Off for 23rd Win of Season
|
The Washington Nationals overcame a fine performance by Cincinnati right fielder Mike Douglas to defeat the Reds, 3-2, at Nationals Park. Douglas went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The Nationals move to 23-33 with the win, while the Reds drop to 27-29.
The Nationals procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Alex Renteria. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Renteria said.
