Gatimu Goes on Rampage Against Canucks
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

Hamid Gatimu of the Newcastle Bayhawks had one such moment at Canucks Stadium, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Newcastle succumbed to defeat, 6-2, to the Johannesburg Canucks.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 25-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

Hamid Gatimu singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Leta Othiambo in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

To date, Gatimu has collected 40 hits for a .231 average. He has posted 7 home runs, scored 22 runs and driven in 14 runs.
