Brewers Prevail, 3-2, Over Kansas City
|
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in National League action at Miller Park. Milwaukee pitcher Kory Woods had a standout performance. Woods yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-2. Micah Gaff earned the save for Milwaukee, his 1st.
The Brewers got a big hit from designated hitter Rich Maravilla. In the bottom of the sixth, Maravilla smacked a 2-run home run off Kansas City pitcher Dan Woodward. It was his 5th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Brewers were ahead, 3-2.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Maravilla said after the game.
The Brewers improved their record to 24-24 by beating Kansas City.
