Cardinals Lose at Home, 5-1
|
The Milwaukee Brewers downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1, at Busch Stadium. Stellar pitching by Josh Bobzin had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the NL in wins with 6, handcuffed his opponent all game. Jonathan Bradshaw got credit for the save for Milwaukee. It was his 1st of the year. The triumph puts Milwaukee at 25-21 for the season.
In the top of the third inning of a 1-1 tie, Milwaukee designated hitter Steve Prater reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Milwaukee on top, 2-1.
"Winning is contagious," said Prater. "We're looking forward to the next game."
