There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Chad Thompson is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the State College Spikes at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The monster effort from the 22-year-old center fielder helped the Tri-City ValleyCats get the win, 17-4.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Spikes manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Chad Thompson doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Guzman in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Thompson has 3 home runs and a .307 batting average.
