Despite a fine performance by second baseman Greg Estrada, the Houston Astros lost to the Cincinnati Reds, 7-6. Estrada went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Alan Handzel collected his 5th save. The third-place Reds now have a win-loss record of 17-21.

Johnny del Rio helped out the Cincinnati cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4.

"We ground out the win," said del Rio. "That's all that matters."
