Big Day with Bat: Pacheco 5-for-5
|
There was no storybook ending. Juan Pacheco of the Batavia Muckdogs socked it to the visiting Lowell Spinners with a terrific 5-hit game, but his team didn't get the win. The Muckdogs fell, 8-7, at Dwyer Stadium.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Pacheco complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."
He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Batavia manager Mario Garza sympathized with his center fielder, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Juan played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."
Juan Pacheco doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Pacheco has hit .414 with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs.
