Brewers Trounce Indians, 11-3
|
The Milwaukee Brewers put together a convincing win at Miller Park, defeating the Cleveland Indians, 11-3. Jeff Beakes was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Milwaukee. Jamie Sweigart, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 4-2. The win has Milwaukee at 14-21.
With Milwaukee leading 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Beakes came up to bat against Cleveland pitcher Mike Stachelek. Beakes hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Brewers on top, 10-3.
"Enjoyed this one," Beakes told the Milwaukee News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
