Giants Stumble, Lose 4-1 to Mets
|
Starting pitcher Dusty Mueller was a major factor in the 4-1 New York Mets triumph over the San Francisco Giants. Pat Staubus collected save number 7. New York is now 14-19, San Francisco 16-17.
In the top of the sixth, with New York leading 1-0, John Ortega hit a slider from Mike Leadbetter for a run-scoring single, giving the Mets the lead, 2-0.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Mueller.
