Toronto Triumphs with Late Surge
The Toronto Blue Jays topped the Los Angeles Angels, 7-5, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Toronto first baseman Greg Sanchez was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Toronto reliever Conor Hanley picked up the win to move to 2-1. Jeremy Kephart suffered the loss. Pat Langberg got credit for the save for Toronto. It was his 7th of the year.

Sanchez had one of his biggest at-bats in the top of the ninth. Facing Jeremy Kephart, the Toronto slugger hit a 2-run home run. Suddenly, what had been a 5-4 Toronto deficit turned into a 6-5 lead. For Sanchez, it was his 9th home run of the season.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Sanchez said.

Toronto has a record of 12-20.
