Tropicana Field was the site of a tense game between the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays.

The Tampa Bay Rays got a magnificent performance from pitcher Greg Sheehy, who muffled the Seattle offense en route to a tight 3-1 Rays win at Tropicana Field. The Rays, with only their 9th win in 30 games, could be the worst team in the league.

Sheehy allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings for the Rays. He walked 1 and struck out 10.

"I was the aggressor," said Sheehy. "No doubt about it."
