Los Angeles Bums starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a strong game against the Boston Bees at The Bee Hive, leading the Bums to victory, 5-3. The loss makes Boston 67-49.

Matt Vierling was 1 for 5 for Los Angeles. The 28-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 21st. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Yoervis Medina. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Yamamoto.
