The Boston Bees beat the Kansas City Monarchs, 6-4, at Monarchs Ballpark. Boston left fielder Jimmy Sheckard had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Picking up his 15th save was six-time All-Star Zack Britton. Boston, at 45-31, holds down third place in the Federal League Eastern Division.

Shohei Ohtani had a big 3-run home run for the Bees in the top of the third inning. With Boston trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Shane Bieber, who is tied for 4th in the FED in quality starts with 12, and punished it. The result was his 19th home run of the season, which put the Bees on top, 3-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ohtani told the Boston Times.
