Rainiers Beat Visiting Gothams, 7-4
The Seattle Rainiers topped the New York Gothams, 7-4, in Federal League action at Rainiers Field. The standout performance belonged to Seattle pitcher and Milton, Massachusetts, native Dylan Cease. Cease got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The Rainiers saw their win-loss record go to 42-34. At the same time, the Gothams fell to 34-42.

Bobby Witt Jr., who led the FED in triples with 10 last year, came through for Seattle with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. The third baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.

"Dylan -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Rainiers manager Sean Cassidy. "He was the key to us winning."
