Covey Holds Valiants Scoreless
The Modesto Valiants struggled at the plate today against Glass Blowers hurler Dylan Covey, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 1-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Valiants skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Covey finished the game with 3 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," Toledo manager said. "Dylan made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

This season Covey has gone 4-4 with an ERA of 4.68, posting 42 strikeouts in 84.2 innings.
