Rainiers Heading to World Series
Depending on your loyalties, the League Championship Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking.

The series went down to its final game, with the Greenville Rainiers and the Encino Men giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Rainiers came out on top, winning 8-2 at AT&T Park today to take the series 4-3.

"We're lucky to be going into the World Series," said Greenville pitcher Luis Matos. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."

Matos earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .320 average, with 1 home runs, 3 RBI and 4 runs scored.

The Greenville Rainiers will play against the Augusta Heatwave in the next round. Augusta won their series against the Yuma Ice 4 games to 0. The World Series is scheduled to begin on September 18th , 2022.
