The Flint Tropics and Springfield Rifles held nothing back in an entertaining Round 1 that went the distance.

In the end, it will be Flint advancing to the Round 2, after a 2-1 triumph in the final game at Homerun Jesus Field, to wrap up the series 3-2.

The Tropics players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Rifles.

Ben Breazeale was named series MVP for Flint. For the series, Breazeale hit .500 with a .611 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Flint Tropics will play against the Great Falls Cowboys in the next round. Great Falls won their series against the London Roughnecks 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
