Tarpons End Wheeler Streak Wednesday, July 12th , 2045 Lady Luck was not on the side of Nick Wheeler or his teammates at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Everything went the way of the Tampa Tarpons, who not only came away with the 3-2 victory over Clearwater, but also held Wheeler hitless in 3 at-bats to put an end to his 21-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Wheeler said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." Posting a .298 batting average to date, Wheeler has 6 home runs and 25 RBIs. |
