Servantes Rips Fayetteville for 5 Hits
Saturday, July 29th , 2045
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Jorge Servantes is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers at Five County Stadium. The monster effort from the 24-year-old third baseman helped the Carolina Mudcats get the win, 17-5.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Woodpeckers manager Mitchell Senger. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Jorge Servantes singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Tony Acevedo in the 7th.
For the year, Servantes has hit at a .318 clip with 31 RBIs, 5 home runs and 33 runs scored.
