Lange Raps Carolina for 5 Hits Thursday, July 21st , 2039 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jerry Lange -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Grainger Stadium and paced the 7-0 Wood Ducks win over the Carolina Mudcats. After his dynamite batting performance, the Down East left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Jerry Lange singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Crespo in the 8th. View Boxscore |
