The Hillsboro Hops starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Spokane Indians and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Ortega was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 12 months. This season, Ortega has gone 6-8 with an ERA of 4.33, posting 88 strikeouts in 114.1 innings. |
