Ugly Incident Ends in 3-Game Suspension Thursday, July 21st , 2039 It got ugly on the field today in the Blue Jays and Red Sox game, when Luis Salinas was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, Salinas threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate. League officials thought the Toronto catcher went too far and gave him a 3-game suspension. "Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," Salinas told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control." This season, Salinas is batting .150 with 9 home runs. His totals include 29 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |
