Guardians Red Montoya to Miss Year Monday, August 1st , 2039 The doctors have spoken and Alex Montoya of the Cleveland (AZL) Guardians Red didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old second baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Montoya sustained his season-ending injury during the San Diego (AZL) Padres 1 game yesterday at Guardians Developmental Complex. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Cleveland (AZL) medical staff reported Montoya had a concussion and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. In 19 games this season, Montoya has batted at a .361 pace with 26 hits and no home runs. |
