Milwaukee Loses, 5-3, to Washington in 10
|
The Washington Nationals faced a tough opponent in Milwaukee pitcher Jon Marin, but still scratched out a win at American Family Field by a final score of 5-3 in 10 innings. Marin went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Jim Runyon picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bobby Baldwin suffered the loss. The Brewers, now 4-10, continue their sluggish start.
Washington used the clutch hitting of Termarr Johnson to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"I felt good up there," said Johnson. "I saw the ball well."
