Chic Batters Montgomery for 5 Hits
Tennessee second baseman Costodio Chic went down swinging at Smokies Stadium, knocking out 5 hits even as his Smokies fell, 7-6.

"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Chic said after his 5-for-7 performance against the Montgomery Biscuits. "No offense meant to Montgomery, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."

After the game, his manager elaborated on the second baseman's improvements, saying Chic spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Chic agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Costodio Chic singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.

For the year, Chic is batting .317 with 3 home runs.
