MacNeill Gets 7-0 Shutout
Barry MacNeill of the Sugar Land Skeeters was on top of his game.

The 28-year-old tantalized the Albuquerque Isotopes with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 7-0.

"He had the changeup working," Albuquerque manager Jared Goedert said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Sugar Land hurler had 8 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.

MacNeill told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This season, MacNeill has a 8-3 record with a 3.18 ERA.
