Angels Lose to Devil Rays, 6-3
|
Led by Julio Rocha, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays downed the Los Angeles Angels, 6-3. Rocha went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Devil Rays. Jeremy Ward, who finished 5th in the NL in saves with 27 in 2033, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-5. The losing pitcher was Danny Velasquez. The win puts the Devil Rays at 80-75, while the Angels drop to 91-64.
Andy Belding, who is tied for 4th in the AL in total bases with 322, took Los Angeles hurler Danny Velasquez deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Devil Rays on top, 4-3. In all, Belding had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
