Brewers Upend Cardinals, 7-4
|
The inspired effort of St. Louis right fielder Bill Figueroa was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-4, to the Milwaukee Brewers. Figueroa was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Adrian Davila was credited with the save, his 31st in 38 tries. Milwaukee, at 67-80, holds down 4th place in the National League Central Division.
Aaron Bailey took St. Louis hurler Amari Smith deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Brewers on top, 4-2. In all, Bailey had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
In postgame comments to the Milwaukee Chronicle, Bailey said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
