Phillies Popped by Reds, 6-3
|
The game between Cincinnati and Philadelphia is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Cincinnati Reds besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Philadelphia right fielder Tetsunosuke Yamaguchi by beating the Phillies, 6-3, at Citizens Bank Park. Yamaguchi went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Rob Cochran picked up the win, lifting his record to 9-3 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 5 innings, while yielding no runs.
Cincinnati won the game in part because of Daniel Rouse. The third baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reds ahead, 4-0. For the game, Rouse had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Rouse.
The Cincinnati winning streak has reached 3 games.
