Rockies Suffer 8-6 Home Defeat
|
Colorado got a terrific game from designated hitter Ben Rudolph. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Milwaukee, 8-6. Rudolph was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Milwaukee pitcher Jeremy Gladfelter earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Angel Caldera suffered the loss. Ben Potochnik notched his 1st save in 2 chances.
Jon Villa was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs for Milwaukee. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Angel Caldera. It was his 47th RBI of the season.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Villa. "And not try to do too much."
The 4th-place Brewers sport a record of 65-78.
