Los Angeles Squanders Big Game by Gallegos
The Las Vegas Vipers overcame a pretty good performance by Los Angeles designated hitter Mario Gallegos, beating the Angels, 9-6, at Prizepicks Park. Gallegos went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Las Vegas pitcher Jeremiah Bailey earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Josh Shuman suffered the loss. The 4th-place Vipers bumped their record to 61-77.

First Baseman Leo Garza made an impact for Las Vegas, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Eric McVeigh in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Garza went 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Garza told a Las Vegas Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
