Cleveland Loses Again, 7-4
|
Boston parlayed a decent outing from starter Jayson Keller into a solid win over the Cleveland Guardians. The final score was 7-4. Keller, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The 76-61 Guardians have lost 11 consecutive games.
Justin Myers had a big 3-run home run for the Red Sox in the bottom of the third inning. With Boston leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from former first round draft pick Izzy Diaz and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Red Sox on top, 6-1.
"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Cleveland manager Jeremy Ron.
