Aldridge Fuels 8-0 Seattle Triumph
|
Chicago had no answer for Seattle Mariners hurler Chris Aldridge, who overwhelmed White Sox hitters as the Mariners coasted to victory, 8-0. Aldridge yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 11-9. Seattle, now 68-64, holds down third place in the American League West Division.
In the bottom of the second, Seattle first baseman Leo Figueroa had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Figueroa stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, Seattle. For the game, he went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
"We maximized our offense today," said Seattle skipper Jared Mariners. "That makes everyone's life easier."
