Rangers Lose, 5-1, at Minute Maid Park
The first-place Houston Astros took on the Texas Rangers in front of a spirited crowd.

The Houston Astros downed the Texas Rangers, 5-1, at Minute Maid Park. Stellar pitching by Chris Cave had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the AL in innings pitched with 166.0, handcuffed his opponent all game. The Astros improved their record to 83-47 by beating Texas.

Houston took a 3-1 lead on Josh Burdick's 2nd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Burdick hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Texas pitcher Brian Frazier visibly frustrated.

"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Burdick.
