Las Vegas took on Los Angeles in front of a lively crowd.

The Las Vegas Vipers beat the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 11-2. Las Vegas first baseman Dale Archer deserved the lion's share of the credit. Archer went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Vipers. The winner was Hugo Orozco, who threw 104 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with no runs on 3 hits.

With Las Vegas leading 8-1 in the top of the ninth, Archer came up to bat against Los Angeles pitcher Rogelio Melgoza. Archer hit a sinker to left for a 3-run home run. His 37th home run of the season put the Vipers on top, 11-1.
