The Texas Rangers rode a solid performance from 31-year-old starting pitcher Mel Santana to a win, beating the San Francisco Giants, 3-2, at Globe Life Field. Texas reliever Victor Figueroa was the winner. His record is now 3-5. The losing pitcher was Nazir Lack. The Rangers improved their record to 46-75 by beating San Francisco.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Texas trailing 2-1, Daniel Guzman hit a fastball from Danny Esparza to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rangers had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was juiced," said Santana.
