Mets Pin 5-0 Loss on Miami
|
Johnny Southern, who is tied for 5th in the NL with a 3.08 ERA, was locked in. The right-hander led the New York Mets to a 5-0 win against the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park. Southern picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-9. Danny Ernalia earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Mike Alvarado drew 1 walk for New York. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Bobby Barnhardt. It was his 43rd walk of the season.
"Johnny did a good job of managing their lineup," said New York manager Chris Mets.
