Nunez Helps Phillies Beat Braves, 8-1
|
The first-place Philadelphia Phillies picked up another win.
Philadelphia first baseman Hector Nunez had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Atlanta Braves, 8-1. Philadelphia leads the National League East Division by 21½ games.
With Philadelphia leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Nunez hit a fastball from Julio Valdez for a 3-run home run. It was his 27th home run of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 5-0.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Nunez.
