Los Angeles Downed, 6-3, by Astros
|
Los Angeles got a big-time effort from pitcher Jeremy Parks, but it wasn't enough to keep the Houston Astros from winning the game, 6-3. Parks threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Terris Sadler got the save, his 26th in 27 chances. The win for the Astros raised their record to 63-52.
Josh Hordge drew 1 walk for Houston. The 31-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Mario Palacios. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
Said Houston manager Brian Russell: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
