Texas Defeated By Vipers, 3-1
|
Las Vegas and Texas duked it out and the Vipers came out victorious.
The Vipers grabbed a win, 3-1, at Globe Life Field, overcoming a fine effort from Texas pitcher Elijah Haugabook. Haugabook went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Brandon Young, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 8-4.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Brandon Hughes to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vipers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Every loss hurts," said Texas manager Austin Dixon. "But this was a tough one."
After today's action, Las Vegas sits at 55-39, while Texas falls to 34-61.
