Vipers Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
The Las Vegas Vipers faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Danny Campos, but found a way to pull out the victory at Globe Life Field by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Campos went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Las Vegas reliever Mike Hewitt picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Mitch Carey took the loss. The current losing streak for Texas has reached 4 games.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Tim Oliver to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Vipers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Said Las Vegas manager Quinten Athletics: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
