Rangers Come Back Late, Nip Royals
|
The Texas Rangers had to overcome a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher Willie Echeveste to win, 1-0, at Globe Life Field. Echeveste went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever Danny Monterosa picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Julius Sanchez, who is tied for 4th in the AL in holds with 10, took the loss. Elijah Haugabook recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 16 for 19.
Texas went in front, 1-0, on Dave de Casas's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which de Casas hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kansas City pitcher Julius Sanchez visibly perturbed.
In postgame comments to the Texas Citizen, de Casas said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Rangers sport a record of 28-47.
