Orioles Heading to World Series
|
The Baltimore Orioles proved to be too much to handle for the Houston Astros in the Championship Series, and a sweep was the end result.
Baltimore punched its ticket to the World Series on the strength of a 7-5 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 4-0.
Baltimore first baseman Manny Medina, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Houston pitching to the tune of a .462 average, with a .632 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 12 runs.
The Baltimore Orioles don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Los Angeles Dodgers - Washington Nationals series. Washington leads the series 3 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes.
