Palm Beach Takes Round 1
|
The Round 2 hopes remain strong for the Palm Beach Cardinals.
The team tonight eliminated the St. Lucie Mets with a 1-0 win, to capture the Round 1 4-1.
"We're rolling now," said Bryan Kurucz, who was named series MVP. "The pitchers are pitching, hitters are hitting, look out. I expect us to pick our game up to another level in the Round 2."
The standout offensive performance from Kurucz included a .579 batting average, .571 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, 2 RBI and 0 runs scored.
The Palm Beach Cardinals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jupiter Hammerheads - Lakeland Flying Tigers series. Jupiter leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
